EN CONSTRUCCION The Las Torcas Co-operative was started in 1992 by Marianne Hilgers. Its aim is the promotion of organic agriculture and awareness of the importance of a healthy diet together with the protection of our environment. More recently, since 2005, Las Torcas has been responding to a new social awareness of the importance of healthy eating and high quality, nutritious food. Las Torcas is supporting small local farmers who were previously dependent on market prices, and is offering them fairer prices for their products. In this way the CO-OP aims to prevent local agriculture from declining and to encourage young people to take up organic farming. The CO-OP has also created a direct link between farmers and consumers, who are able to obtain products at more reasonable prices with the knowledge that the fresh fruit and vegetables they are buying are locally produced. Together we are creating a network of production and consumption on a local level, reducing transportation to a minimum and supporting both farmers and consumers. OUR HEALTH IS IN OUR HANDS THANK YOU FOR BEING PART OF THIS REALITY
